Brady’s Dinosaur Birthday Extravaganza

My sweet little nephew Brady is turning 6 on May 22nd, and I can hardly believe it! This sounds terribly cliché, but where has the time gone? This little guy is incredibly smart (and gets smarter by the minute) and his dimply smile will make anyone melt. See what I mean!

To celebrate his upcoming birthday, my sister Jolene transformed her home and yard into a modern day Jurassic World for his party with friends from school! As you will see in the photos below, no details were missed. The weather was absolutely perfect with sunshine all day, a light breeze, and temperatures reaching the mid-80s! I was so impressed with the effort and creativity that went into planning and implementing the party that I had to share and brag about my sister Jolene for a minute! Please read on to learn all about the activities and menu that was experienced at this wildly awesome birthday. The photos are sure to bring inspiration and make you smile! My sister is definitely the hostess with the mostess!

The activities for the little ones included the following:

  • Adventure Obstacle Course

  • Egg Hunt for Color Coded Dino-Eggs

  • Create Your Own Fossil

  • Zip Line

  • Coloring

  • “Feed the Dinosaur” Bean Bag Toss

  • Fossil Dig

But there’s more; I need to tell you about the food! The meal spread consisted of:

  • Dinosaur-Shaped Chicken Nuggets – thank goodness for private label products with fun shapes!

  • Hot “Dino” Dogs – grilled to perfection

  • Brontosaurus Burgers - for the adult carnivore appetites

  • Raptor Claws – cleverly named Bugles

  • T-Rex Teeth – because who doesn’t love tortilla chips and salsa!?

  • Herbivore Snacks – this veggie tray and fruit bowl were NOT for the carnivores…

  • Dino Eggs (Clementines) – Cuties in disguise

  • Blue Boulders (Blueberry Donut Holes) - Brady's favorite!

  • Fossil Cookies (Footprint Stamped Snickerdoodle Cookies) – They were so tasty, I may have eaten 3 of them…

  • Dirt Cups – Oreos and chocolate pudding are always a good idea

  • Prehistoric Punch – an assortment of kid-friendly beverages

The birthday extravaganza was concluded with two “dino-mite” desserts! Jolene made our favorite lemon cake with strawberries, as well as decadent chocolate cupcakes!

Though the party may be extinct, many happy memories were made! Great work Jolene!
